Best WordPress Affiliate Programs 2022

If you own an affiliate blog, then you’ll know by now that there are literally thousands of affiliate programs you can join. Sadly most affiliate programs have a shallow conversion rate. It’s not uncommon for an affiliate program to have a below 1% conversion rate. In this list, we’ll only show affiliate programs that have more than a 2.5% conversion rate overall.

We’ll be listing affiliate programs for everything WordPress related such as plugins, themes, and hosting. Anyways, let’s skip the small talk and get to it!

When it comes to affiliate programs for WordPress themes, then Elegant Themes is the one where you can end up earning the most money. But it’s also the most competitive one, so we don’t recommend spending time on it for new blogs unless you have a strong website, of course.

The Best WordPress Plugin Affiliate Programs

WordPress plugins are a great way to earn money as an affiliate. The most common ways to market other companies’ plugins are usually through tutorials or “best of” lists. Two examples could be “Best plugins for writers” or “How to add a contact form for your website” (Basically a tutorial on how to use WP Forms).

WP Forms WordPress Plugin Affiliate Program

1. WP Forms Affiliate Program

Ever heard of WP Beginner or Isitwp? Well, they’re the ones who created WP Forms; to be more exact, it’s Syed Balkhi who’s the creator. His team makes very high-quality content and plugins. WP Forms has more than 3 million users, so there’s a big potential when it comes to advertising their plugin. As you probably guessed by now, there’s a lot of competition as well, so you need to have a high authority website to rank well. The plugin’s name is pretty self-explanatory; you use it to create any form, such as contact forms, sign-up forms, event forms, etc.

The Best WordPress Hosting Affiliate Programs

Picking the best WordPress hosting affiliate programs was no easy task; there are many high-quality ones. Below we’ll be previewing the affiliate programs with the highest conversion rates & commissions. We’ll also be talking about each one’s pricing difference; they all have a different target audience.

WP Engine WordPress Hosting Affiliate Program

1. WP Engine Affiliate Program

WP Engine is the best brand to promote, mainly because they’re such a big part of the WordPress environment, so everybody knows who they are. They’re used by famous brands such as Unicef, Soundcloud, and many others. They offer recurring commissions, which are always preferable over a one-time fee. They’re trustworthy and always do payouts on time; using them is a great experience overall.

  • Average Commission: $8.78
  • Payment threshold: $50
  • Cookie duration: 180 days

Namecheap WordPress Hosting Affiliate Program

2. Namecheap Affiliate Program

Picking Namecheap is an easy choice, mainly because when advertising hosting providers, you’ll want a great diversity in the pricing, so there’s something for everyone. Namecheap is super cheap; you can literally get hosting + domain for a year for around $20; you won’t find that anywhere else. The support & server quality goes hand-in-hand with the pricing; sadly, there is a big target audience for cheap hosting, for example, for people running a small personal website.

  • Average Commission: $4.23
  • Payment threshold: $50
  • Cookie duration: 30 days

Dreamhost WordPress Hosting Affiliate Program

3. Dreamhost Affiliate Program

As mentioned above, we appreciate having a diverse list, so there’s hosting for everyone. WP Engine is quite expensive, Namecheap is cheap, and Dreamhost is somewhere in the middle. And well, even though commission shouldn’t be what you look at primarily, then you cannot ignore Dreamhost’s, with a flat commission from $50-$250, it has huge potential for every lead you generate.

  • Commission: $50-$250
  • Payment threshold: $50
  • Cookie duration: 30 days

The Best WordPress Service & Misc Affiliate Programs

WordPress is complicated, especially for new users. There are a lot of maintenance services as well as other miscellaneous affiliate programs you can join. Advertising them on your website is a great idea for many reasons – especially because there often isn’t a lot of competition.

WP Buffs Affiliate Program

1. WP Buffs

WP Buff has an awesome affiliate program, especially because they have recurring commissions; that’s one of the main factors you should consider in affiliate programs. Here’s what they write about their own affiliate program:

Article Ideas For WordPress Affiliate Programs

There’s a bunch of potential content you can write when you’re promoting different WordPress affiliate programs. One of the most profitable & informative ways to promote them is, in our opinion, lists over the best themes/plugins for different purposes. Here’s a couple of ideas:

  • Best Themes for Bloggers
  • Top 5 Themes for agencies
  • Best plugins for event websites
  • Best WordPress hosting services

The list can be repeated forever with the best plugins for businesses, developers, and so on.

Choosing the Best WordPress Affiliate Programs

What we look at the most when recommending affiliate programs is not necessarily their user base. It’s mainly conversion rate. It doesn’t matter if there are 10 million potential buyers for a plugin if the conversion rate is 0.1%. Sadly it’s around that for lots of affiliate programs; we recommend having over a 2.5% conversion rate.

It’s also important to look at the product you’re recommending; we see many people recommend the best hosting/theme/plugin company with the highest CTA. That’s great for you, but it sucks for your readers, so we highly recommend you consider ethics as well when doing affiliate business.

WordPress Marketplaces Affiliate Programs

If you’ve ever visited Envato or Templatemonster, then you might wonder why we aren’t recommending them. The answer is simple: they’re terrible. We experience a conversion rate lower than 1% on Envato and below 0.5% on Templatemonster, for example. It might be because of how their cookies work or simply because they are not good at turning visitors into customers. However, that has resulted in us never recommending them anywhere.

List Of the Best WordPress Affiliate Programs

We believe that lists often get cluttered; there are too many options, so we have decreased the list to only being our absolute favorite affiliate programs & we intend to keep it that way. We will be updating the list over time to keep it relevant. Most of the programs we recommend are through Shareasale, that’s our favorite platform and where we have most of our own affiliate programs. It’s nice to have them collected in one place; you might also want to check out CJ and other affiliate program marketplaces. Although we don’t think they have the same great usability as Shareasale. It might not look too pretty, but it’s a damn good service they provide!

Best Affiliate Programs For Selling WordPress Themes, Plugins & Hosting

That’s it, folks. That’s our favorite affiliate program for selling themes, plugins, and hosting. We have looked through statistics for 50+ affiliate programs we have been a part of to make this list. If we experience a theme, plugins, or hosting company performs better than what we have mentioned in this article; then we’ll try to update it as soon as possible to keep the data accurate.

Please note that commissions, product prices, cookie duration, etc., might have changed since this article was written. Of course, we’ll do our best to keep it updated at all times, but we don’t have the resources to check product prices for all companies every day, etc.

Best of luck with your affiliate business!
